How to Track Impact from Day One
Practical resources for charities, social enterprises and community groups
đđ» Hello!
I was working with one of my small charity clients recently and we were talking about the reports they had coming up. Theyâd delivered the projects exactly as planned, in fact the last few months had been a huge success, with more enquiries and referrals than they had expected, but they hadnât kept track of any of this, and now the reports were due, I was trying to help them find evidence of exactly what theyâd done, so we could get on top of the reports.
I put these ideas together for them, and am now sharing them with you here.
đŒ This monthâs new resources
Most groups wait until the final grant report is due before thinking about the difference their project has made. By then, it can feel rushed and stressful.
The earlier you start tracking, the easier reporting becomes, and itâs not as complicated as you might think, because everything you need to track is already in your funding application.
This worksheet helps you turn your original project plans into simple, practical tracking from day one, so you can confidently show the difference your project is making, covering:
Clear definitions of outputs, outcomes and impact.
A checklist to help you decide what information is most important to collect.
Examples of what different projects might track and report to funders.
