Giving your time and expertise for free is how most people get started, and there are often lots of other people willing to volunteer their time for a good cause too. But at some point, you’ll need to start looking for funding to pay for things like insurance, room hire, equipment, activities & travel. Thinking about this early on can help you to plan for unexpected expense.
The majority of my client-facing work involves helping charities, community groups and social enterprises to identify potential funders and apply for grants. Even though I’ve worked in fundraising for over 17 years, there’s always more to learn, and an ever-changing economic and political climate to navigate.
This course comprises a workbook and series of videos, and has been designed to be an introduction to researching funding opportunities, applying for grants, and learning the fundraising skills that will hopefully set you up on the road to success.
